Nerd. Pay way more attention to this stuff than I should. I keep ticket stubs. I listen to vinyl. I live in the past. London Calling, The Specials, This Year’s Model, Kaya, Sound Affects, Only A Lad, Road to Ruin, Phantasmagoria, Seventeen Seconds, Come On Pilgrim, 10, 9, 8…, . But have used music festivals to discover great new music. Much of which was heavily influenced by what I grew up with. Walking into a tent at Coachella and hearing Grinderman for the first time (tippytoe…tippytoe…). Or Frank Turner. Or that Wolf Alice aftershow at Lollapalooza. Or stumbling across Ghost with only about 100 others (everyone else was at Radiohead on the main stage) at dusk at Lolla. And the Slaves aftershow opening for Buzzcocks at Riotfest (what the hell was that???). And I have opinions…many of them. Without prompt. I’ll tell you how unworthy some musicians are. And will spew useless knowledge about the mundane. That’s when you can call BullChip.
