Fleshwater are from Boston and blend shoegaze, grunge, alternative metal, and hardcore/metalcore into something often described as “grungegaze.” Members are also connected to the hardcore/metal band Vein.fm. If you like Deftones, Loathe, Narrow Head, Superheaven, or Hum, there’s a good chance Fleshwater will click with you. Their live show combines dreamy, atmospheric passages with huge, crushing guitar sections, making them one of the more sonically dramatic bands on the lineup.

Radio Free Alice are from Melbourne, Australia, and play modern post-punk and new wave with jangly guitars, sharp melodies, and a strong ’80s influence. They have elements that might remind you of The Strokes, The Smiths, The Cure, Talking Heads, and Fontaines D.C. Their live shows are tight and energetic rather than chaotic, with enough guitar and drum propulsion to work particularly well at a festival. Of all the bands you’re considering, they’re one of my favorite “give them 30 minutes and see if you discover your new favorite band” recommendations.
